WA1KDD Report – Acushnet, MA

From Tom Carr, WA1KDD, Acushnet, MA

A warmer than normal September here in the northern part

of Acushnet, with below normal precipitation.  September continues a
string of warmer than normal months this year.  Only a cold and snowy
April ran colder than average.   It was the 4th. September in a row that
produced a 90 degree day which is very unusual at my location.
A stubborn Tropical Storm Hermine to our South teased the
area during the first week of Sept. with some rain and wind.
Even though September’s 3.36″ of rain was below normal, it was
the wettest month since 4.06″ fell in May.  The welcomed rain of Sept.
did little to ease the extreme drought situation in our area.
Our last female hummingbird of the season packed up and left
Town on the September 22nd. Autumnal Equinox.
